Though originally from Cethleann, her familiarity with Corinth is such that she can be mistaken for a native of Lugh. She masquerades as a Diver and works as Joey's investigative partner in the Corinth Detective Agency, helping him solve cases and complete errands while handling the accounts and bookings for the Agency. She has a noticeable distaste for guns, despite showing obvious proficiency for them, and prefers the use of knives, though her skill with magic allows her to carry healing items. As the Guild possesses only one vehicle, a motorcycle, Maya often takes unofficial custody of the motorcycle for running errands or interference where Joey requires her to do separate tasks for a case. Maya often acts as the brains to Joey's brawn in a case; while she is as good a fighter as he, her knowledge of the Shards, cool personality and skills lend her better to chasing leads that are more difficult for him to understand, and she often runs other tasks to cover her partner, coming in as backup or to deliver evidence to vital allies. Though some speculate on the nature of their relationship, it is to all appearances mostly platonic, as partners investigating crimes against Divers and Firbolgs, or doing other errands. Little is known of Maya's past prior to her becoming the only other member of the Corinth Detective Agency, as she refuses to tell even Joey, who has never since pried. Those aware of her at the Agency, however, are privy to her connections, sometimes deep in the Hybrisian underground across multiple Shards; while it is known that she is a Diver in the Hybrisian sense (able to move between Shards under her own power), what her occupation was before becoming a detective is anyone's guess. Indeed, Joey is as of yet unaware she is an Aes Sidhe, though he has begun to suspect it.
